The Skukuza Airport

The Kruger National Park is now accessible via direct scheduled air services operating to and from Skukuza Airport. Located in close proximity to the Skukuza main camp (also the administrative headquarters of the Kruger National Park) and the adjoining Sabi Sand conservancy, the airport is unique in providing direct access into one of the world’s largest protected wildlife areas.

Skukuza Airport Management

Skukuza Airport is operated through a collaborative governance model that combines aviation expertise with conservation-led hospitality. The Skukuza Airport Management Company works in partnership with SANParks under a long-term public–private partnership, with Airlink providing scheduled air services and airport management expertise, and Lion Sands contributing hospitality operations and specialist insight into managing infrastructure within a sensitive wilderness environment.

This model extends beyond aviation to meaningful local impact. Through partnerships with community development trusts and close cooperation with SANParks employees, Skukuza Airport supports sustainable operations that balance connectivity, environmental responsibility, and shared economic benefit.
